Leendert van den Berg (1970) is a lawyer since 1995.  He is a partner at Severijn Hulshof since 2006. He has extensive experience in complex national and international disputes in the field of construction law, as well as in contract negotiations and providing advice during projects. He frequently acts in tender disputes, both in construction, IT and other sectors. Leendert acts on behalf of contractors, such as building contractors, structural engineers and architects, as well as on behalf of employers.

Leendert has extensive experience in arbitration, including arbitral proceedings before the Arbitration Board in Construction Disputes, the Netherlands Arbitration Institute and under the ICC Rules. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London, the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of New Zealand and the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators and is listed on the Netherlands Arbitration Institute’s panel of arbitrators. He is also an active member of the International Construction Projects Committee of the International Bar Association and served for many years as a board member of the Association for Construction Law. In addition, he lectures at institutions including the Grotius Academy and Leiden University.

For many years, Leendert van den Berg has been recognised by Lexology (formerly Who’s Who Legal) as a ‘Thought Leader’ in the field of construction law. He is also recommended in the Legal500 (Band 3) and the Chambers Europe Legal Guide (Band 3).

Leendert is a member of the Association for Construction Law, the Association of Construction Law Lawyers, the Dutch Association for Procurement Law and the International Construction Projects Committee of the International Bar Association.
