Marc Houweling graduated in civil law and corporate law from Leiden University. In addition he read law at Boston University School of Law in the United States of America.
From the beginning of his career, Mark has specialised in civil-law construction law, property law and insurance law in connection with these fields.
Marc advises and litigates among other things with regard to (building) contracts, building claims and the interpretation of general terms and conditions often used in construction contract law (including UAV 1989, UAV-GC 2005, DNR 2005, Standard RAW provisions and STABU systems). Liability law and therefore also insurance law (CAR/AVB) are an important part of his practice. In addition he is active in property-related disputes in a broad sense (tenancy, purchase, property development).
Marc acts for commissioning parties, contractors and advisory parties, both at the regular courts and before arbitration courts. He publishes articles and casenotes on a regular basis.
